Orders management upgraded!
1. Customize your unique Order ID

In the past, when customer place an order at your store, the order will be assigned to a number fixed by the system. Now, we have made it possible for you to determine how you want your Order ID to look like.


Login to your control panel. Settings > Opertaions > Checkout Options.

You can format the ID with date and time of when the order is placed, or put in any string you wish that could represent your store. As long as one of the two identifier is included in the Order ID format, you will not need to worry that two orders will share the same ID.

2. Better illustration of order statuses


Besides creating custom status, we finally added some meaning to the statuses. When a order is set to cancelled, the amount will no longer be added to your store summary at the dashboard. The use of other selections will be reveal later when Sales Report tool is ready for launch.

Extend the use of the product list
Need to group products from different categories into one place for special promotions or easier reference for your customers? The product list will be able to help you on this. Create your lists and share the link with your customers.
Best selling, Best rated, Latest Products
For merchants subscribed to Unlimited Product Lists, you not only will get to create unlimited number of lists, you could also use the 3 most commonly needed lists.

You will get URL for best selling products in your store or the products that archived best ratings from your customers. Share the URL on your facebook, twitter, or in your emails.

Latest products can be viewed accordingly to date. Simply use the generator to get the link for the list you needed and share.

Major updates to your shopfront
Our development team has been really busy this January. We have been monitoring the usage pattern and processes, and updated a number of processors so your shopfront would run smoother and faster.

1. Add to cart method



Previously, every time your customer add something to their shopping cart, they will be send to their shopping cart to complete the process and the page automatically redirects back to the previous page. Now, you will be able to use Ajax method at your shopfront. With Ajax, the add to cart process will be done in background. Your customers will be able to continue shopping at the same page without waiting.

You can change the setting for this process from Settings > Products > Product Options at your control panel.

2. Ratings

Click on the stars and the new rating will be updated.

Previously due to technical constraints, your customers must go into the product page and rate via a drop down box. We have breakthrough the constraint and your customers can cast their rating, easily. They will be able to rate from other pages too.

3. Product thumbnails

Earlier, we received feedbacks regarding thumbnails in the product page. We finally found a solution to the problem and solve it immediately.

In the product page, simply move your mouse over the thumbnail and the a larger image will be displayed. However if the mouse accidentally moved over another thumbnail, the image will be change again. To avoid this problem, you can now click on the thumbnail and the main image will remain as it is even you move your mouse away.

To view the original size of the image, click on the large photo and the Product Image Gallery will appear in a popup.

4. Product Image Gallery

It used to be able to view one image only. To view another picture of the product, you got to return to the product page and select another picture.

Now, we've upgrade the image popup into a gallery. You will be able to go on to the next or previous photo of the same product. This is extremely great for stores with smaller usable space at your shopfront to show images of your product to customers.

Other minor updates

We have also updated a few other processes such as item tags standardization, thumbnails and images generation, handling of product parameters (tool), product lists updates (tool), support for different currencies (coming soon), member system (coming soon), etc.

These patches could smoothen the loading of your shopfront and cater for more flexibility in the future tools. It is our effort to keep the system ideal for you and your customers.

More templates for your online shop
We've completed another upgrade to our system!

One remarkable feature of our system is the flexibility in template. You can design and make your own layout or simply choose one from our library and apply it directly.

Designing your own template

You will need to have basic HTML knowledge. If you'd once created a template for your blog at Blogger, you are already capable of making one for your shop at YourOwnCart.

Design your layout and code it with HTML the usual way you do it. With the HTML coding, follow this guide to make your template compatible with our system.

Upload and you're done!

Converting from Blogskins
Alternatively, you can get ready-made templates from Blogskins. Of course, they are all designed for blogs. If you're running a blog shop, we believe its the right place for you.

Simply download the file (that was meant for Blogger), upload to the Blogskins Converter (Settings > Layout > Template HTML Editor > Blogskins Converter) and the rest will be taken care of for you.

Pick from library
Easiest way out will be to choose from our Template Library (Settings > Layout > Pick from Template Library). We've prepared few templates for Blog shops and Professional stores. We will be adding more in time to come.



Now, you can get easily change or create layout for your online shop.

Get your store logo


New to selling things online?

New merchants usually do not have their store logo ready the first day they set up their store here. To make things interesting yet fun for you, we've included this simple application that allows you to create a simple logo for your shop instantly.

Login to your control panel, Settings > General. You can access this LogoGen application there.

Brand new Toolbox

We have just completed upgrading of our Toolbox!

We've gathered feedbacks from our merchants and refined the structure of the Toolbox. It is now more flexible and could subscribe at shorter term. Get only what you need, really.

Something that never change - the ongoing works of coming out with new tools to help your business. If there is any features you find them missing in our system, feel free to suggest it to us. We will make it for you!

[NEW] Checkout Options


Now you can set the minimum purchase before your customers check out!

This option can be found in Settings > Operations > Checkout Options.

If you do not need to set any requirement, leave the field at 0. You can restrict the minimum value by number of items in the shopping cart, or total amount purchased.
